| Governesses? |

Looking for a little help here... I'm trying to compile a list of texts written in, based on texts from, or set in the 19th century, which include governesses as characters. Not necessarily as main characters, but the text should do something more than mention their existence off-hand. (Though it would also be worth noting if someone seriously considers becoming a governess but doesn't, as in Emma, or used to be one, as in Wives and Daughters.) Books, stories, plays, films, etc.
Stuff I've already come up with: C. Bronte, Jane Eyre A. Bronte, Agnes Grey Collins, No Name Trollope, The Eustace Diamonds Dickens, Little Dorrit Alcott, Behind a Mask James, The Turn of the Screw
I'm also interested in (but please make note if this is what it is) male tutors or teachers who come to the home. I'm not looking for schoolteachers.
Any suggestions would be wildly appreciated, thanks! I'd be interested to hear about modern reworkings or adaptations as well!
ETA: I'm counting the "long nineteenth century" as running up to WWI; modern historical tales are fine; children's lit is fabulous.
